Tourism Development Model as a Leading Sector in West Manggarai of East Nusa Tenggara Province

Abstract

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has the potential attractions include natural attractions and cultural and special interests are adequate and no less interesting attractions to attractions in other areas. Natural diversity consisting of: sea/beaches, lakes, forests, panoramas, waterfalls and more. While the potential of culture consists of various types of local culture, historical heritage, ethnic groups and other traditional events. But the reality of tourism products NTT considered less developed, less competitive and less attracted tourists than other tourist attractions in Indonesia because the lack of promotion, lack of infrastructure and facilities that support to area attractions. For that entrepreneurs need to find weaknesses NTT tourism and sought-solving solutions that competitive advantages of each attraction may soon be upgraded so that it can compete in the highly competitive business arena. From all the above statement raises questions that the strategy of what to do when the manager of the tourism potential market is known and how to increase the number of tourists? To answer the questions above, we are interested in studying it with a reference to the title of “Model as Leading Tourism Development of West Manggarai East Nusa Tenggara Province”. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the model of tourism development as seed West Manggarai East Nusa Tenggara Province “. This study will achieve the following objectives: 1) Identify and analyze the potential for the development of tourism in West Manggarai, 2) Designing a model of tourism development as seed West Manggarai East Nusa Tenggara Province “. The results showed that the West Manggarai Regency is one of the locations that became icons of world tourism destinations where there is a tourist attraction “Varanus komodoensis” is also another tourist attraction that both nature and cultural tourism. Therefore, there should be a special concern of stakeholders including the local, provincial, central, and internationally in the form of programs/activities that support the development/tourism development of West Manggarai. Some roles are absolutely the responsibilities of the government are as follows: 1) Confirmation and consistency of land use development of tourist areas including secured ownership, rental system, and so on. 2) Protection of the natural environment and cultural heritage to maintain the attractiveness of attractions including the rules of utilization of the environmental resources. 3) Provision of infrastructure: roads, ports, airports, bridges, terminals and tourist transport. 4) Facility fiscal, tax, credit and business licenses are not complicated so that people are more motivated to make efforts to travel.

Women in Poverty; a Case Study on Dayak Mali Ethnic of West Kalimantan, Indonesia

Abstract

This paper tells about Dayak Mali women, who live poor in rural West Kalimantan. They farmed with traditional knowledge. Nomaden field still exists as traditional life of farming. A method used in this paper is descriptive with the case study approach. A case study conducted in Cowet village district Sanggau, West Kalimantan. The data collections by observation, in-depth interview and literature study. The data used was primary data and secondary data which derived from relevant literature. This research result indicates that Dayak Mali women have still life in poverty. The marginalization of Dayak Mali women in develpment of human resources. Local tradition shaped patriarkhi is barrier for Dayak Mali women got out of poverty situation today.

Training Effectiveness of Self-Efficacy as an Effort to Improve the Self-Regulated Learning

Abstract

The study aims to prove whether self-efficacy training can improve self-regulated learning. This study looks at two variables, self-efficacy and self-regulated learning. Individual self-efficacy is the belief in his ability to control the behavior and demands of the environment so as to obtain results in line with expectations based on the level, strength and generality. Self-regulated learning is an attempt by individuals to organize them in a study involving metacognition abilities, motivation and behavior. As many as 46 research subjects were divided into two experimental groups was 23 people and the control group was 23 people. Based on the analysis Wilcoxon signed-rank. Showed mean difference 52.96, Asymp sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means there is an increased ability to self-regulated learning students are given training after self-efficacy. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test showed the mean difference 64.65 with Asymp-sig (2-tailed) = 0.02 (p <0.05) means that students in the experimental group had a self-regulated learning level higher than students in the control group. The results showed a significant relationship between self-efficacy and self-regulated learning with a correlation value of 0.708 and significance (2-tailed) 0.015 (p <0.05).
