THE MEDIATION OF PERCEIVED SUPERVISOR SUPPORT TO LEADER MEMBER EXCHANGE TOWARD JOB ENGAGEMENT

AbstractThe SMEs Craft businesses in Kasongan, Bantul, Yogyakarta is only a few SMEs in Yogyakarta that could export their products and survived when the negative impact of economic crisis occurred in 1997 which effected almost of all business sectors in Indonesia. Those SMEs even rise up again after had the significant dropped because of earthquake effect in 2006. The purpose of this research is to test the mediation effect from perceived supervisor support to leader member exchange toward job engagement of the SMEs Craft business in Kasongan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The sampling technique of this research used purposive sampling. The criterion was an employee that had minimum 2 years work experience and he/she wasn’t the owner. The total of the respondent are 114 people. The regression linier testing was used in this research and the result proved that there is a full mediation effect from perceived supervisor support to leader member exchange toward job engagement.
